The police officer added that it took 30 minutes for the authorities to get all 165 passengers out of the plane using an inflatable slide. She also received information that it was not the captain but the first officer who was in control of the plane.
In a statement, Cebu Pacific Air said all 165 passengers were safe.
"Cebu Pacific Air flight 5J 971 (Manila-Davao) landed safely but veered off to the right side of the Davao International Airport runway during a heavy downpour. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused."
But SPO1 Delfin complained about Cebu Pacific's slow response to the mishap.
"Napakatagal po sir....Siguro malapit nang 2 oras bago may lumapit sa amin, hindi pa po may kataaasang posisyon," Delfin complained. - ABS-CBN news
