Alaska Aces beats Ginebra Kings in Game 2, 1 win away from title

The Alaska Aces showed off its undisputed strong line up when it earned its second win over Barangay Ginebra Kings in a heated Game 2, 104-90, to move closer to its first PBA title in 3 years.
The Gin Kings surged in the opening quarter, with LA Tenorio leading the charge for an 11-9 lead. But the Aces quickly figured things out and overtook the Kings in the second quarter. At the end of the first half, Alaska was already leading by 17 points, 54-37.
After trailing the Aces by 18 in the third, Ginebra stepped on the gas with Kerby Raymundo and Tenorio producing a mini-run to cut Alaska’s lead to 14. But Dondon Hontiveros nailed several attempts beyond the arc and fired 3 straight shots from that area to push Alaska further, 87-68, with 7 minutes remaining.
The Kings refused to back down and went for a final push that cut the deficit to 10 points, 83-93, with 1:37 minutes to play. Alaska, however, closed out Game 2 almost effortlessly for a 2-0 series lead.
Obviously affecting Ginebra’s chances was import Vernon Macklin, who was seen limping for most parts of the game. Macklin only scored 8 points. - ABS-CBN news
